On April 5th, we were pleased to cater an art show opening which not only showcased the talent of a local Toronto artist, but simultaneously raised awareness for The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre, a children’s mental health treatment, research and teaching facility.

It was a great pleasure to work with Marie Tomeoki, and her mother, Kanae, and the cocktail event was a success on all fronts.  The guests were treated to an assortment of hors d’oeuvres including smoked salmon tartare, sweet Caribbean chicken curry on a plantain chip, mini beef burgers with aged cheddar, wild mushroom spring rolls, and endive leaves topped with a pear and pecan relish.  For dessert, we passed around our signature French orange and chocolate cupcakes, complete with swirls of homemade icing.

“A big thank you to everyone who attended my solo gallery exhibition on April 5th-9th, 2012, at Bizune Event Gallery in Toronto. After months of planning, the hard work paid off and the event proved to be a hugh success, with over 120 people at the open evening, including the Consulate General for Japan.

Several piece of art were sold and the exhibition not only showcased my work, but also helped raise awareness to youth mental health, with a portion of proceeds being donated The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre.

Many people have commented that they really enjoyed the evening. There was a great atmosphere, complete with music and food, all of which came together to show my art work in the very best light.

Yorkshire Pudding played a huge part in making the event a success by catering the event. Their service was first class, the food was delicious and the staff was delightful and well organized.

It was another successful wedding season here at Yorkshire Pudding, and what a privilege it was to work with so many wonderful families this past summer.

In mid-September we catered the Houghton & Jervis wedding, which took place in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake.  We had a lot of fun working so closely with the couple and the groom’s mother, and as you can see from the photos below the wedding was a stunning affair.

In addition to the rented items, we used some of the hostess’ beautiful antiques in our set-up, including crystal compotes (used in the lovely table arrangements), an antique French champagne bowl and a silver cake server, which is a family heirloom.  It was nice to incorporate a few personal elements into the table decor.

Yorkshire Pudding proudly participated in the Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser organized by TD Waterhouse of Burlington/Oakville this past Monday night.

The event took place in the newly opened Burlington Performing Arts Centre, a beautiful venue and great addition to the city.  We offered coffee and an assortment of sweets including cookies, individual lemon mousse and our signature lollicakes.

Approximately 500 people were in attendance, and a cheque for $15,000 was handed over to the Canadian Cancer Society.

It’s always nice to be included in a “Best Of” listing, and we’re honoured to have recently been named one of Toronto’s best catering companies over on BlogTO. Recognized for our classic and elegant menu, weddings, private dinner parties and corporate events, it was great to see our name in listed as one of the top 9 in the city.

We’re excited to announce that the styled tea party was chosen for publication, and the photos are now available for viewing.

Photographed at Lakewinds Country Manor, in beautiful Niagara- on-the-Lake, this citrus-hued gathering is whimsical, charming, fresh, and oh so pretty.  Not to mention, it’s also the perfect backdrop for an afternoon engagement party, bridal shower or ladies cocktail party.

Yorkshire Pudding is pleased to be participating in the upcoming Battle of the Brands, a local fundraiser hosted by Toronto Tourism for their Relax, Renew, Recharge program, which offers the parents of special needs children a much deserved break.

We have been invited to attend the event in order to prepare foods for those who are competing in a bowling challenge, as well as network with others in the industry.  On offer will be our mini sausages on a bun and individual s’mores on a stick, two fun items perfect for the summer season.
